Volatility in 2016, Positioned for 2017
At the lows in February, the market was down nearly 10%, but turned quickly in the spring. Then in November, as the results of the election became known, the market moved higher, but the rotation out of bonds and technology into financials and industrials was a sudden shift in market sentiment. Taking advantage of these major changes in market direction while protecting account principal proved challenging.
Accounts are currently positioned in a diversified portfolio of funds, looking to take advantage of advances in the stock market. Holdings include both growth and value funds, as well as holdings in large, mid and small cap stocks. We look forward to 2017 with confidence in our invested positions.
